Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday asked Abdul Hafeez Sheikh to continue performing his duties as a financial advisor after the latter suffered defeat in Senate polls on March 3rd.
As per details, The premier held a meeting with Sheikh in Islamabad after the National Assembly session and expressed full confidence in his abilities.
The prime minister lauded Abdul Hafeez Sheikh's performance as the financial advisor. Khan said that Sheikh played a key role in the revival of Pakistan's economy.
It is important to mention that PTI faced an upset in Senate polls held on March 3rd when its candidate from Islamabad Hafeez Sheikh suffered defeat at the hands of the joint candidate of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani.
Following Sheikh's defeat, PM Khan on Saturday had voluntarily announced to take a vote of confidence from the National Assembly and secured 178 votes.
