Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday called a meeting of the PTI’s parliamentary party to review the latest political situation before the vote of confidence tomorrow (Saturday), reported local media.
According to the details, the meeting will be held at 4 pm at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad.
The invite has also been extended to the allies of the government. However, their attendance is not confirmed as of yet.
PM Imran Khan, during the meeting, will speak to the MNAs about Finance Adviser Abdul Hafeez Sheikh’s defeat in the senate elections and review the current political situation of the country. The motion for the vote of confidence will also be discussed.
The prime minister would take the vote of confidence from the National Assembly on Saturday.
PTI's Abdul Hafeez Sheikh had lost the Senate seat from Islamabad in polls held on 3rd March. His opponent and joint candidate of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Yusuf Raza Gillani had won by taking 169 votes despite having a lower headcount in the National Assembly.
It is important to mention that a day before the polls a video of Ali Haider Gillani, son of Yusuf Raza Gillani, surfaced on the media in which he was allegedly offering money to PTI lawmakers to vote for the former premier.
