IED expert, terrorist commander killed in an IBO in South Waziristan, says ISPR

Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in South Waziristan and killed a terrorist commander allegedly involved in the killings of 50 security officials, Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) said on Friday.

According to a statement released by the military's media wing, a raid was conducted by the security forces in the Sharwangi, Tiaraza, an area in South Waziristan in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP).

During the raid, an exchange of fire took place and a high-profile terrorist commander Nooristan alias Hassan Baba was killed.

Nooristan was an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) expert and involved in attacks on over 50 security personnel. As per the ISPR, he was in the area giving training to the terrorists.

Security forces also conducted an IBO raid on a terrorist hideout in MalikKhel, North Waziristan last Tuesday and killed two IED experts including a terrorist commander Rehmat alias Khalid.

During the operation, huge caches of weapons were also recovered by the security forces.
