Two terrorists including an IED expert were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by the security forces in North Waziristan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.
According to the military's media wing, security forces, upon receiving intelligence tip, conducted a search operation on terrorist hideouts in MalikKhel, North Waziristan. An exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces took place.
"During intense exchange of fire 2 terrorists including a terrorist commander Rehmat alias Khalid were killed," ISPR said in the statement.
It was also revealed that "Rehmat alias Khalid was an IED expert and remained involved in different terrorist activities against Security Forces, extortion, kidnapping for ransom and target killing since 2009 in the area."
During the exchange of fire Havaldar Shahzad Raza also embraced shahadat.
Security forces have recovered a huge cache of weapons and cleared the area.
