RAWALPINDI: Pakistan on Wednesday successfully test-fired Shaheen-III surface-to-surface ballistic missile, having a range of 2,750 kilometers, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported Wednesday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the missile is capable of carrying nuclear and conventional warheads to a range of 2,750 kms.

According to a tweet by Director General Inter Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar the test flight was aimed at validating various design and technical parameters of the weapon system.

The successful flight test, with its impact point in the Arabian Sea, was witnessed by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Nadeem Raza, Director General Strategic Plans Division, Commander Army Strategic Forces Command, Chairman NESCOM and the scientists and engineers.

President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Nadeem Raza and the services chiefs have congratulated the scents and the engineers on achieving another outstanding milestone.

Earlier on January 12, Pakistan Navy had demonstrated combat readiness and warfighting capabilities through live weapon firing exercise held at the North Arabian Sea.

The spokesperson of the Pakistan Navy had said that anti-ship missiles and torpedoes fired from Naval submarines have successfully engaged intended targets during the exercise. NNI
