Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Saturday, commended his team for bringing sugar prices down through a multi-pronged strategy after the sugar crisis.
The prime minister took to Twitter to extend felicitations to his team. In a tweet, the premier wrote that sugar is being sold at a national average of 81 rupees per kilogram while it was being sold for 102 rupees per kilogram a month back.
"MashaAllah Sugar is selling at a national average of Rs 81 per kg vs Rs102 per kg a month back. I want to congratulate my team for bringing the sugar prices down through a multi-pronged strategy."
The premier, in October, had promised that his government would use all resources at the state's disposal to bring down food prices. He said that the authorities are already examining causes of the price hikes: whether there is a genuine supply shortage or simply hoarding by mafias or smuggling.
