**Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), on Thursday, conducted a search operation in Shahdara, Lahore, and arrested five alleged terrorists. Those arrested were identified as Samar Kand, Abdul Rehman, Wazir Gul, Asmatullah, and Imran. **
According to details, the CTD recovered a large cache of weapons, explosives, and Pakistani and Afghani currency from the suspects. The detainees were planning to target the Punjab Civil Secretariat and other sensitive places in the provincial capital.
The spokesperson of CTD transcribed that the arrestees have been sponsored by the Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and pictures of important buildings have been found from their cellular phones.
All of the accused belong to Afghanistan and only recently arrived in Pakistan. They have also confessed to meeting Afghan intelligence officers in Jalalabad. A case has been registered against the arrested terrorists at the CTD police station.
