Islamabad's district administration, on Sunday, sealed the inner hall of the Shah Faisal Mosque due to a violation of COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the Friday congregation two days ago.
According to the details, congregational prayers will not be offered in the inner hall of the mosque. Meanwhile, authorities are taking precautions to make sure SOPs are followed in mosques and other places of worship.
The Deputy Commission of the capital territory Hamza Shafqat took to Twitter to share that mosque will remain open for daily prayers and the hall will be opened for Friday gathering after proper arrangements are made.
Ullema urge the public to follow SOPs:
President Arif Alvi, on Thursday, met prominent Ullema to at Aiwan-e-Sadar to discuss the role of the mosque in spreading awareness about COVID-19 and how Ulema can convince people to follow the government's coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs).
After the meeting, Alvi briefed the media that religious leaders have agreed to implement SOPs decided for the mosques and other places of worship during the first wave of coronavirus. The president said that Ulema has also appealed to the politicians to postponed the rallies and comply with the SOPs.
