LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) appeal to put Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif’s name on the Exit Control List (ECL) has on Friday been fixed for hearing.
According to details, Supreme Court’s Justice Mushir Alam will head the bench that will hear the appeal on October 27. The PML-N president has been accused of transferring billions of rupees abroad illegally through benami accounts and making assets worth billions using frontmen, servants and money changers.
The federal government had put Shehbaz Sharif on the ECL earlier this month but his name was removed on the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) order. The anti-corruption watchdog had challenged the LHC’s verdict in the top court. NNI
