India has been unable to contain novel coronavirus infection. Public health experts believe that it's on track to become the country hit hardest by Covid-19. This means that India will overtake the United States in the next few weeks.
Coronavirus has ravaged the whole world but particularly U.S. and India have been most adversely affected by the virus. These two countries are the current global epicenters of the viral disease, and the number of daily new cases are still being reported in abundant.
India is closing in on the U.S. Covid tally. To date, over 7.9 million cases have been reported in India while the United States has reported 8.9 million cases. It should be noted that the U.S. has tested far more people than India. Total tests conducted in the U.S. are 134,476,092 while India has sampled 103,462,778 people so far.
Texas, California, Florida, New York, and Illinois are the top five worst affected states by coronavirus in the United States. While Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu are hit hardest in India.
