625 new cases take the national COVID-19 tally to 313,431

In the last 24 hours, 625 new cases were reported which took the national tally of COVID cases to 313,431.

Coronavirus has been contained effectively in Pakistan but still, 500-700 people are being tested positive for the virus daily.

A total of 31,697 coronavirus tests were conducted in the country in the last 24 hours, out of which 625 came out positive. A positivity rate of 1.9%, meaning the situation is still under control. But that doesn't mean that the virus doesn't pose any serious threat to public health anymore. It should be remembered that the public needs to keep practicing social distancing and following SOPs to keep the second wave of coronavirus infection at bay.

The reopening of schools, colleges, restaurants, and wedding halls across the country a couple of weeks ago has increased the cases to some extent. Punjab province reported 100+ plus new cases for the second consecutive day today. Also, a spike in new cases in some areas of Karachi has forced the Sindh government to implement 'micro smart lockdown' in certain areas today.
