Global coronavirus cases exceed 20 million

Over 20 million people across the globe have been confirmed with the novel coronavirus infection to date.

According to the latest COVID-19 statistics provided by the renowned Johns Hopkins University, the total number of reported COVID-19 cases crossed the tally of 20 million today. The new viral disease that originated in Wuhan, China in late December last year took over the world in just a few months.

The top three most adversely affected countries by this virus are the US, Brazil, and India accounting for over 50% of the total global cases. The United States has reported over 5 million coronavirus cases making up a quarter of the global tally alone.

As of today, these are the latest JHU statistics :

While countries like China, United Kingdom, Italy, Pakistan, etc. have successfully contained the virus, several countries are still finding it hard to curtail the spread of the virus. The novel coronavirus is particularly rampant these days in countries like India, Brazil, United States, South Africa, Colombia, and Argentina.
