Punjab, like the other regions of Pakistan, has successfully contained the novel coronavirus infection. Diminishing numbers of new cases are clear evidence that the province has flattened the coronavirus curve.
According to the latest statistics shared by the health department of Punjab, 137 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the province in the past 24 hours, This takes the total corona patient tally to 94,360 in Punjab.
The number of recovered COVID-19 patients in Punjab has exceeded 86,266. Death tally stands at 2,169. A total of 775,969 tests have been conducted to date in the most populous region of Pakistan.
District-wise most cases have been reported in Lahore, 47,887 cases. Rawalpindi with 7,569 cases is second, Multan is third on the list of most coronavirus infections in Punjab with 5,883 cases.
With lockdown being lifted today completely from the province, the number of cases is expected to rise in the coming days. As everything is back to normal, public health experts have warned the public that the risk of you contracting the virus is now more than ever and you should be more vigilant now and protect yourself to the maximum extent against the viral disease.
