Coronavirus cases have been surging since the lockdown restrictions were lifted in Pakistan in the last week of Ramadan. But the good news is that the number of people who have recovered completely from the viral disease is also increasing every day.
As of today, the tally of recovered patients has exceeded 1 lac in Pakistan, it has reached 100,802 to be exact. Pakistan reported its first COVID-19 patient on 26th February. Since then the number of patients has increased steadily and currently, it stands at 213,470 with 4,133 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours. The new kind of virus from the coronavirus family has proved fatal for 4,395 people in our country with 91 Covid-related deaths occurring in the last 24 hours.
Pneumonia-like illness causing virus affects different people differently. Some people show only mild symptoms needing just symptomatic treatment while some show moderate to severe symptoms and need critical care. But most people remain asymptomatic.
With every passing day number of new Covid cases and covid-related deaths are increasing but the tally of patients recovering from the flu bug is also increasing globally. Over 5.7 million people have defeated the virus across the globe. In stressful times like these, we tend to ignore such news but instead it should be celebrated.
Lastly, the people who have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection must be encouraged to donate their plasma. As their plasma can further save other people's lives. A single plasma donation can save up to two lives. So if you know someone who has overcome the disease you must motivate them to donate their invaluable plasma.
