Iffat Omar raises brows over nepotism in Pakistan TV industry

The tragic death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has opened a floodgate of accusations against bigshots of Bollywood. While the B-towns bigwigs tweeted and posted their condolences, they were criticized for 'sheer hypocrisy of their actions' since they allegedly bullied and harassed Singh in his life for being an outsider. Director Karan Johar was the main target of these allegations for being the flag-bearer of nepotism.

The criticism wasn't confined to Johar's casting etiquettes but also questioned the constant bullying at director's hands on the sets of Koffee with Karan. This debate and criticism have resulted in the cancellation of Season 6 of the show.

Pakistani celebrities were most vocal about mental health and bullying after the sad demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. Some even criticized the Hindi cinema for all the above-mentioned reasons. However, actor and host Iffat Omar has a different point of view.

The former supermodel took to Twitter to raise an important question about nepotism in the Pakistani TV industry. In a tweet, she said:

"Pakistani industry artists sharing news of coffee in Karan in hot water but darlings what about the #nepotism in your own backyard? Kabhi socha hay hamari industry me adakar kitne hayn? (Have you ever think about how many [actual] actors are in our industry)."
