Former Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has tested positive for COVID-19 today.
Sadiq, 65, Member National Assembly from Lahore joins a long list of MNAs infected by the novel Coronavirus. Unfortunately, in the past few days most of the top leadership of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz has tested positive for the virus including party President and Opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif.
Shehbaz tested positive yesterday. Other prominent PMLN leaders currently suffering from COVID-19 are former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbassi, Ahsan Iqbal and Maryam Aurangzeb.
PMLN leadership isn't alone in this as several other legislators from different parties including ruling PTI and major opposition party PPP have also been infected with the virus. Of late, Pakistan has seen a surge in COVID cases across the country and political parties are no exception.
PMLN President Shehbaz Sharif wished Ayaz Sadiq a speedy recovery via Twitter.
