Cher cheers on Imran Khan, says she is a fan

Singer and actor Cher turned out to be an Imran Khan fan, from his cricketing days. She revealed in a tweet:

"I was a big fan of you when you played cricket @ImranKhanPTI. I always thought you seemed so kind. Thank you so much for your help. This is a dream come true @ftwglobal. #kaavan"

In a series of tweets today, singer and animal rights activist, thanked Fawad Chaudhary, Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari, Zartaj Gul and Malik Amin Aslam along with her legal team in Pakistan for their efforts to free #Kaavan, the lonely elephant in Pakistani zoo.

As a result of constant efforts by 'Free The Wild', an organization for the protection of wildlife founded by Cher, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in May ordered the wildlife officials to release Kaavan and find him a sanctuary in Sri Lanka within 30 days.

Cher started efforts for the release of Kaavan from the zoo in 2016 after outrage over his treatment by zoo officials went global with a petition asking for his release garnering 200,000 signatures. Cher celebrated IHC's decision, calling it "one of the greatest moments" of her life. As soon as the verdict came out on May 21st, she shared the news on Twitter.
