KARACHI: The police have foiled a bid to smuggle one thousand litres of Iranian diesel to Mouchko area of the city on Thursday night.

Kemari Division Superintendent of Police (SP) Arif Aziz told media that Mouchko police, acting on secret information about the smuggling of diesel, started checking the vehicles coming from Mouchko check post.

During the checking 5000 litres of Iranian diesel was seized from a Hino passenger bus, with a registration number BS-562, which was concealed into the specially designed hidden cavities of the bus.

The driver Abdul Waheed, son of Muhammad Boluch, was arrested from the spot. The accused and the vehical have been handed over to the customs authorities for further action. —APP
