Jericho vs Omega booked for NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom 12

Its happening guys !! yes, after exchanging tweets on Twitter for the past few weeks, the highly anticipated match between Chris Jericho and New Japan Pro Wrestling's Kenny Omega has finally been booked and it's happening sooner than you think.

Y2J has been booked to have his first match outside of the WWE since 1999 as he will take on the IWGP United States champion at Wrestle Kingdom 12 on January 4, 2018, which is essentially New Japan Pro Wrestling's version of WWE's WrestleMania.

The two had been going back and forth on Twitter recently, taking shots at one another in what appeared to be an angle to set up a potential match on Jericho's planned cruise event set for October 2018.

Instead, it was revealed today the exchanges were done to set up a title match in Japan for Wrestle Kingdom at the Tokyo Dome, with the promotion hyping the match as "Alpha vs. Omega."

Jericho confirmed that he will be in this match in an Instagram post, despite currently being listed on WWE's website as one of their superstars, suggesting he might actually currently be a free agent. He hasn't worked for WWE since July when he made a surprise return, interrupting an altercation between Kevin Owens and AJ Styles.

Going up against Omega, the leader of Bullet Club, should be one incredible match, especially after Omega's international status rise in the past year.
