A Joint Investigation Team constituted to implement the Supreme Court's verdict in the Panama Papers case has asked Press Information Department (PID) to submit transcripts of television interviews and statements of the Sharif family to the JIT.
Sources said the six-member JIT headed by Additional Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Wajid Zia asked the Press Information Department to submit transcripts of television interviews, statements and other documentary evidences of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his sons and Maryam Nawaz related to the Panama Papers to the JIT.
The JIT has also decided to obtain services of a British audit firm. They said the JIT has asked the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to submit the record of Nawaz Sharif and his son's tax returns and the SECP to submit financial statements from 1985 to 2016.
Sources said the JIT had earlier received the record of 17-year-old scam of Hudabiya Paper Mills from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) as well as asset details of PM Sharif and his son-in-law Captain Muhammad Safdar (Retd) from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
