Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif says the government will soon overcome energy shortage once for all and reduce the electricity rates. Â
Addressing a big public gathering in Layyah on Tuesday evening, he said that the power plants setup by the government are starting generation of electricity one after the other.
The Prime Minister said that he has recently inaugurated Bhikki Power Plant and will now soon inaugurate the Haveli Bahadur Shah Power Plant.
He said other power projects including Balloki, Qadirabad, Sahiwal, Port Qasim, Neelum Jhelum and Tarbela-IV are also in the pipeline and on completion would add ten thousand megawatts of electricity to the national grid by early next year.
The Prime Minister said subsidized electricity is already being provided to farmers.
Nawaz Sharif said foes of Pakistan do not want materialization of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, construction of motorways and roads, ending of load-shedding and provision of better health facilities to the people.
He said Motorways and Highways are being constructed across the country to provide better communication facilities to people.
He said his government will continue its journey of development and progress, despite mudslinging by political opponents.
Earlier, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of a bridge on Indus River to connect Layyah with Taunsa at a cost of seven billion rupees he bridge will reduce distance of 180 kilometers to just 24 kilometers enabling people to reach Indus Highway from Layyah in 30 minutes.
Nawaz Sharif announced provision of gas to Chowk Azam, Karor Lal Esan and Fatehpur areas.
He also announced provision of Health Cards in District Layyah to facilitate the poor patients.
The Prime Minister also announced construction of 50 kilometers long road from Chak No.128 to Somra Nasheb and remodeling of Thal Canal.-Radio Pakistan
