The PSL final brought smiles on the faces of millions of Pakistanis. This mega event has been considered infelicitous at a time when Pakistan is being manacled by a recent wave of terrorism.Â
Instead of welcoming the international players and officials, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has dubbed the event nothing but an attempt of the government to hide its corruption scandal behind the veil of cricket.
He has created another controversy as he was filmed telling aides the foreign players who took part in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final were ‘phateechar’ (roughly, low-class).
After this statement, Imran Khan came under fire and is facing a lot of criticism on social media as well as from political leaders and other public figures.
An anchorperson and former wife of PTI chairman Reham Khan also criticized the 'phateechar’ comments of IK. She took to twitter and gave a reply.
We are a loving hospitable nation taught to treat our guests with honour & respect. #PakistaniValues

Reham’s tweet came in the backdrop of Imran Khan calling foreign players 'phateechar'.
