Transporters given one-month to meet vehicles' fitness standards

KARACHI: The city administration has given one-month to public transport operators to comply with the
required fitness standards, as such vehicles would not be allowed to operate in the metropolis after the deadline.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting presided over by Commissioner Karachi Ejaz Ahmed Khan, said a statement issued here.

It said that a drive would be initiated from March 20 and buses, mini-buses and other public transport vehicles with poor fitness would not be allowed to operate in the city.

The statement said that one month's time is being given to meet the fitness requirements. -APP
