Saleem Shahzad sent to jail on Judicial demand

KARACHI: An Anti-Terror Court (ATC) on Tuesday decided to send Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Saleem Shahzad on judicial remand till February 18, Aaj News reported.

Saleem Shahzad appeared in ATC in a case related to providing treatment and shelter to terrorists. Lawyer for Saleem Shahzad presented his medical reports in ATC. He maintained that the politician was seeking treatment for cancer, and he should be released.

Shahzad expressed his faith in the courts. He said he was suffering from kidney and liver cancer and he had no idea that he would be arrested at the airport.

On which, the court remarked that you must had to contact your lawyer before arrival. Look at Sharjeel Memon, out on bail, the court further remarked. Shahzad's lawyer replied, 'I could not make any contact with Saleem Shahzad."

Saleem Shahzad reached Karachi from Dubai on Monday morning where he was arrested by police officials. His passport has been confiscated by immigration officials.
