Muslim scholars criticise UN for genocide in Syria

The religious scholars while marking 'Solidarity Day with Oppressed Syrians' have urged the United Nations and Organisation of Islamic Co-operation to take notice of prevailing atrocities on the people of Aleppo.

Addressing a conference titled 'Call for Aleppo' organised by Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) on Friday, the clerics also urged on leadership of Islamic Ummah to take action through 'Islamic Militarily Alliance' against elements responsible for making interference in affairs of Muslim countries, particularly Arab world.

Ulema from various religious schools of thought vowed that people of Pakistan are willing to support oppressed people of Syria. Chairman PUC, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi addressing the conference said that silence on part of world community on prevailing atrocities against people of Syria is very alarming and concerning.

Genocide is being committed against the people of Syria, said Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi adding that Islamic countries including Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar should play their role to stop ongoing massacre of Syrian people, including children and women.

World leadership is demonstrating a criminal negligence by killing innocent children in Syria, said Tahir Ashrafi and resolved that PUC will keep continue its struggle by awaking people of Pakistan about ongoing atrocities in Syria and Iraq.

He also asked Iranian and Russian regimes to take pity on innocent children of Syria who are being butchered under heavy bombardment.

On this Occasion, Maulana Aqeel, Maulana Abdus Saboor, Maulana Abdul Hameed Sabri, Maulana Tahir Aqeel and Maulana Ashfaq Patafi also addressed the conference. Secretary General Pakistan Ulema Council, Allama Zahid Mehmood Qasmi said that people of Pakistan are all united to support the oppressed Muslims of Aleppo.

He said that divisions are being made in Arab world on sectarian grounds and conspiring elements are making moves after Syria and Yemen to disrupt peace of Harmain Al Sharifain.

The entire Muslim Ummah is united and committed for the defence and security of Harmain Al-Sharifain. He said that elements responsible for making attacks on children in Aleppo and Peshawar own no affiliation from any religion and these elements are enemies of humanity.

Meanwhile, clerics delivering Friday sermons in different mosques all over the country expressed their solidarity with the oppressed people of Aleppo.
