Missile attack on Makkah: Ulema Council calls for immediate OIC summit

Religious scholars from different schools of thought have urged the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to summon a summit immediately to review the defence of Makkah, following a missile attack by Houthi rebel tribes of Yemen.

Addressing the 'National Defence Conference for Haramain Al Sharifain' here Friday, they also called upon the United Nations (UN) to probe the elements accomplice in missile attack on Makkah and those supported Houthi rebel tribes in supplying or developing such a missile.

They said that the missile attack bid by Houthi rebel tribes is intolerable and Muslim Ummah will not forgive such elements which dared attack the holy city of Muslims.

The people and the government of Pakistan are all set to lay down any sacrifice for the defence and security of Haramain Al Sharifain. The participants made it clear that Muslim Ummah will foil all the conspiracies of anti-Muslim elements.

The participants of the conference also urged upon the Muslim leadership to summon world conference to contain conspiracies made against Haramain Al Sharifain and resolve prevailing challenges in the Islamic World.

Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi presided over the conference while representatives of religious and political organisations as well as delegates from different walks of life and envoys of Muslim countries also attended the conference.

The participants of the conference also adopted a resolution to condemn foreign intervention in affairs of Muslim countries, particularly foreign interference in affairs of Arab World.

The resolution adopted at the conference dropped a hint that conspiracies are being hatched to disrupt peace of Arab World and Muslim countries on sectarian grounds.

Houthi tribes of Yemen are being supported from outside the region to create chaos in Saudi Arabia with sole objective to disrupt peace and bring holy places of Muslims under attack.

Central leader of Wafaq-ul-Masajid Pakistan, Maulana Ayub Safdar speaking on the occasion said that thousands of prayer leaders associated with Wafaq-ul-Masajid are ready to lay down any sacrifice for the defence of Haramain Al Sharifain, adding that the security forces of Saudi Arabia proved that they are worthy to defend the sanctity of Haramain Al Sharifain by foiling missile attack bid at Makkah.

President Pakistan Ulema Council Islamabad, Maulana Abdul Hameed Sabri said that a countrywide awareness campaign will be launched to create awareness for the defence of Haramain Al Sharifain.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leader Maulana Asim Makhdoom said that Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been rendering enormous sacrifices for Muslims of the world, adding that any aggression against Saudi Arabia will not be tolerated.
