WEB DESK: Finally, after days of speculation, and Deepika Padukone’s endless shenanigans, we now know who would be playing the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next historical romance venture ‘Padmavati’.

Ladies! Just grab your hearts! It’s none other than the dashing heartthrob who has come all the way from Pakistan to make us swoon on his good looks and charming personality. It’s none other than Fawad Khan.

Recently when Fawad Khan and Deepika Padukone walked the ramp for designer Manish Malhotra, people went gaga over their sizzling pairing and everyone expressed their interest of seeing them together onscreen soon.

Well, this wish has now being granted, by none other than the marvel himself, Sanjay Leela Bansali. The director has apparently roped in Fawad Khan to play Deepika Padukone’s husband in his next, ‘Padmavati.’ Fawad has finalised the deal for the film, that also stars Ranveer Singh (playing Alauddin Khilji) and Deepika (playing Padmavati).

Speaking about how Deepika wanted a bigger star to play her husband, an insider says, “The first schedule is with Deepika and her husband’s character. The scenes between Deepika and Ranveer are being shot separately as they never meet in the film. Initially, a TV actor was to be signed, but Deepika put her foot down. A random actor from television won’t do for her. While she has no scenes with Ranveer, she shares some intense romantic and lovemaking scenes with her husband, so she wants a big star as her hero.”

While Fawad also has Karan Johar’s production in hand, KJo and Bhansali share a very good equation and it will apparently be no problem for Fawad to manage dates. The source also claims that actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Ali Zafar were approached to play Fawad’s character in the film, but no one wanted to play second lead to Ranveer.

We cannot wait to see Fawad and Deepika’s chemistry onscreen.
