RAWALPINDI: Maj. Gen. Muhammad Imran Majeed has been promoted to the rank of Lt. General and appointed Surgeon General.

A very competent and highly professional doctor, he is regarded as pioneer in cardiac electrophysiology at National Level and his services have been duly acknowledged in this field, said an ISPR press release issued here.

He has been commandant Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC). Presently, he is posted at Army Medical College, Rawalpindi.
