Android VS Windows Phone

Android, an operating system that is almost 6 years old and with may be the largest operating system being used in Cellular world. Android is no doubt a candy land with beautiful colors adding a plus point to their user interface. Android uses linux kernel with Java programming as its coding system.

The developers significantly lower the cost of development and distribution by developing such technologies. It is easy to use with the ability for anyone to customize the Google android platform with better notification with the application market of 600,000 applications.

Android operating system supports every Google service. Android market is vulnerable to malware with less control of the manager,  battery usage is definitely a grey area as it waste battery because of the ongoing ‘process’ in the back ground with the reports of crash and hanging very often.

If we take a look at the windows operating system in the phones it clearly gives us a different flavor with easy navigation and cleaner user interference, it consumes less battery because it does not let any application to run on its back ground like the android OS.

If you compare the application market then windows is no way near having only 125,000 apps with few thousand being added every week. Al though Microsoft is trying everything to expand the application market. Windows phone has native app for facebook and many others whereas in android you have to download an app for every software that you want to use making it a user friendly phone.

Windows phone can go blow for blow with android in a number of other ways too for e.g in windows phone there are flow keyboard added, which lets you glide your fingers over letters rather than tapping them, this is a match for swipe on Android.

Cortana is the biggest recent addition to windows phone 8 and it gives the OS an answer to Google. There are a lot of similarities between the two and both are impressive in their own ways obviously not identical. Both gather information about their users and uses it to give you tailored information.

Cortana seems a little more adept at gathering information on you. Its also easy to track and delete information from cortana. Before the addition of cortana windows was way behind the Android OS but now windows phone is gaining on. Both deliver the basics features like virtual personal assistants.

Last but not least, Android is better suited to those who are technology savvy but if you want  your phone just to work and have a exquisite design then windows phone are arguably the best.
