The President made the appointment in terms of Article 243(4)(c) of the Constitution of Pakistan read with Schedule-V of Rule 15-A(1) of the Rules of Business, 1973.

Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila is due to retire on October 6, 2014 on completion of his tenure.
