Tarbela, Mangla dams still at maximum conservation level

ISLAMABAD: The major water reservoirs Tarbela and Mangla dams are still at their maximum conservation level of 1550 feet and 1442 feet respectively.

According to the data released by Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Thursday water inflow in the Tarbela dam was recorded as 74,100 cusecs and water level was 172 feet higher than its dead level of 1378 feet.

The water level in the Jhelum River at Mangla Dam was 1242.00 feet, which was 202.00 feet higher than its dead level of 1040 feet whereas the inflow and outflow of water was recorded as 43,338 cusecs each.

The release of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa and Sukkur was recorded as 82,737, 77,480 and 91,872 cusecs respectively.

Similarly, from the Kabul River a total of 15,300 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera and 35,094 cusecs released from the Chenab River at Marala.
