NEW YORK: Maria Sharapova reached the US Open last-16 on Friday with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Germany's Sabine Lisicki.

Sharapova, the 2006 champion, will face Danish 10th seed and 2009 runner-up Caroline Wozniacki for a quarter-finals place.
