UNITED NATIONS: British Actress, Emma Watson has been appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador to advocate the empowerment of young women by United Nation Gender Equality body UN Women on Tuesday.

The reports revealed that Emma Watson, best known as Hermione in Harry Porter has been appointed as a new Goodwill Ambassador. "Being asked to serve as UN Women's Goodwill Ambassador is truly humbling," Watson, 24, said in a statement.

Emma Watson, while revealing her views regarding the associated designation said that women empowerment and rights issues are something related to herself, that's who she is. It is rooted in her own life. Emma Watson is excited to use this title to make opportunities available for young women .
