Music therapy can boost resilience in teens with cancer

The new study carried out in the Indiana University monitored the experiences of a group of patients aged 11-24 who took part in a music programme for about three weeks.

All the participated patients were undergoing high-risk stem-cell transplant treatments, according to the study report. media reported.

The music therapy programme including writing song lyrics, record sounds and producing videos remarkably increased the patients to get better ability to cope with their treatment in comparing to another group not offered music therapy.

The researchers also found that the program also improved the patients' relationships with family and friends.
