Following the footsteps of Gilani, Raja calls for Energy Conference

Pakistan's newly elected Prime Minister, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has called for an Energy Conference expressing his focus on the energy crisis in Pakistan, Aaj News reported.

Following the footsteps of his predecessor Yusuf Raza Gilani, Raja has decided to highly prioritize the energy crisis and call upon members of the cabinet and other authorities related to energy sector for an Energy Conference, like Yousuf Raza Gilani was supposed to before his disqualification.

Raja Pervaiz Ashraf who is known for his claims of eradicating load-shedding from the country within months, was then Water and Power Minister of Pakistan.

Raja was elected Prime Minister by the Parliament on Friday, replacing Yusuf Raza Gilani who was disqualified by the Supreme Court after being convicted of contempt.

It should be noted that Raja Pervaiz Ashraf is currently fighting cases in the Supreme Court implicating him of fraud and corruption in the "Rental Power Plant" projects.
