Reports have indicated that the 2 matches would be played at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The tentative dates that have been announced for the two matches are 25th and the 26th of May.
The World XI team, headed by West Indian Alvin Kallicharan, is expected to land in Karachi on the 24th of May.
Sources have been hesitant in reporting the names of the players of the World XI team, stating that they do not want to risk the revival of cricket within Pakistan by revealing their identities.
Although the source stated that the World XI team would be comprising 6 South-Africans, 4 West Indians and 1 Sri Lankan player. With respect to Australian players, the source stated that negotiation with 2 Australian players was also underway.
Earlier, Bangladesh had shown clear intent of touring Pakistan but they pulled out of the tour at the last moment.
This Cricket event would revive the sport within the Pakistani region since 2009 when the Sri Lankan team received heavy gun fire on their bus which resulted in injuries to Sri Lankan player Thilan Samaraweera.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shown a positive intent towards supporting this event. A letter has been forwarded by the PCB to Sindh Sports Minister, Dr. Mohammad Ali Shah, asking for the approval of using the National Stadium for the cricketing event. A PCB meeting in this respect would be held tomorrow.
