Wigan side score two goals in early succession and kept their nerves till the end to secure a much needed win. The first two goals came in the first eight minutes with Franco di Santo scoring the first one and Jordi Gomez scoring the second. Arsenal took quick action to the goals and Thomas Vermaelen was quick enough to pull one back for the Londoners 21 minutes later.
