He further confessed that he was also involved in Oslo’s bombing incident alongside the massacre where he killed 77 people on Utoya island outside the capital on July 22.
Earlier, on entering the court, Breivik was seen calm and smiling. "I don't recognize Norwegian courts because you get your mandate from the Norwegian political parties who support multiculturalism," Breivik said in his initial statement to the court.
Rejecting the court’s authority, he further stated that he did not recognize the authority of Judge Wenche Elisabeth Arntzen, because she was friends with the sister of former Norwegian Prime Minister and Labor Party leader Gro Harlem Brundtland.
Breivik added that he committed the act in order to save Norway from being taken over by muslims, declining any criminal guilt. He claimed that he had targeted the government headquarters in Oslo and the youth camp to strike against the left-leaning political forces he finds responsible for permitting immigration in Norway.
The main issue that needs to be resolved within the 10 days trial is regarding the mental health of Breivik.  If he is found to be mentally sound, he would be sentenced for a 21 year jail term or he would sent to an alternate custody where he would be kept for as long as he would be deemed a threat to the society.
