Freida Pinto to present at 2012 Golden Globes

The ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ acclaimed star joins the list of elites who are set to perform at the Golden Globes this year, according to a press release from the official award organisers, Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). They had also tweeted the same, “HFPA announces Freida Pinto as a 69th Annual #GoldenGlobesPresenter (sic).”

This year, Freida will be the only one to walk the red carpet who has not been nominated in any category. Also, her performance at the Golden Globes for the second time makes her the only Indian actor to be repeated for the same. When her film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ was among the ones nominated, she had presented the awards for the first time. Shah Rukh Khan had accompanied Freida then.

The statement from HFPA read, “Antonio Banderas (1997, 1999 and 2004 Golden Globe nominee), Jake Gyllenhaal (2011 Golden Globe nominee), Salma Hayek (2003 Golden Globe nominee), Nicole Kidman (1996, 2002 and 2003 Golden Globe winner; 1992, 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2011 Golden Globe nominee), Clive Owen (2005 Golden Globe winner), Melissa McCarthy, Freida Pinto and Natalie Portman (2005 and 2011 Golden Globe winner; 2000 Golden Globe nominee) are set to present at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 15, 2012, with host Ricky Gervais.”
