Awais, Ramiz shines as Rams strengthen claim for T20 Cup last 4-round

Medium pacer Muhammad Ramiz snapped-up four wickets for 24 runs and opener Awais Zia blasted a quickfire half century to propel Rawalpindi to easy win.

Ansar Javed hammered a late 35 in 26 balls with four boundaries. Opener Gulraiz Sadaf hit three fours and one six in his 35 and Kamran Hussain banged brace of sixes and fours in his 19-ball 30 as opting to bat first, Multan Tigers collected 151-9 in 20 overs.

Rawalpindi Rams in reply reached the target with eight balls to spare. Hard-hitting Awais Zia slammed 52 off just 30 balls spiced with eight boundaries. Tahir Mughal struck five fours and six in his 37 after facing 27 deliveries.

Test batsman Umar Amin made an unbeaten 21 and Hammad Azam scored 15 not out off 12 balls with two boundaries as Rams romped home for their second.

Super Eight Champions Rawalpindi will be up against Faisalabad on Friday for place in the semifinals.
