LA-37 polls postponed; LA-38 elections continue

Deputy Election Commissioner AJK, Ishtiaq Ahmed Rana, while talking to the media, said that the AJK Election Commision's demand to depute rangers at the polling stations was not met which created a law and order situation at some polling stations and reports of violence were received from Qila Lacchman Singh, Krishan Nagar and Gulberg polling stations.

The Deputy Election Commissioner said that he had intimated to the Chief Election Commissioner about the poor law and order situation who ordered the postponement of elections in the LA-37 (Valley-2). Meanwhile, the AJK Election Commission has issued a notification for the postponement of the election in LA-37 (Valley 2). However, no date has been fixed for polls.
