President Asif Ali Zardari, on March 27, agreed to free an Indian national Gopal Dass, arrested on charges of spying and languishing in Kot Lakhpat prison for 27 years.

Earlier, India's Supreme Court appealed to Pakistan this month to release the prisoner, Gopal Das, on humanitarian grounds.
