The plant will provide 232 MW electricity to the city.The officials of Private Power Infrastructure Board (PPIB), Ministry of Water and Power and the representatives of the Turkey-based power ship ‘Kaya Bey’ would also attend the ceremony.
A Turkish ship carrying world biggest rental power plant with a 232 megawatt power generation capacity arrived in Karachi on Thursday.
After the ceremony, it will be sailed to the Ibrahim Haideri harbour where it will be connected to the Korangi Thermal Station on Nov 24, the official said.
The power-generating ship came as part of an agreement signed a year ago between Pakistan and a private Turkish company.
The plant is expected to improve power supply to Karachi, a city of 18 million people.
