No survivors in Karachi plane crash

A charter aircraft carrying staff from an Italian oil company crashed minutes after take-off near Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi. The plane was going to Bhitt Shah Oil field from Karachi.

Lieutenant colonel Noor Alam said that all the people on board were killed in the crash. All dead bodies recovered and have been shifted to different hospitals.

Police official Shad bin Masih said there were 21 people on the aircraft, including 17 passengers, one guard, one technician, the pilot and co-pilot.

The incident took place at about 07:13 a.m. when a private plane owned by a local air company named JS Air crashed right after it took off Jinnah International Airport.

A company official in Karachi said that the plane was chartered by ENI, an Italian multinational oil company, and was carrying its employees.

The Cessna plane was carrying 21 people. A rescue team has rushed to the crash site and the fire of the plane has been put off. The crash took place due to engine failure.

The wreckage fell in an area located near a military depot, police officials said.

JS Air was not immediately reachable for comment.
