Polling is being held on Saturday at 23 polling stations in two constituencies of Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s Bagh district.

Polling is being held at nine stations in LA-15 (Bagh Central) and 14 stations in LA-16 (Eastern Bagh), where voting could not take place during the third phase of polling on Monday.

Polling started at 8am and will continue till 5pm without a break.

Polling for these constituencies was postponed on August 10 due to the failure of polling staff to reach the stations in the two constituencies due to bad weather.

Authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the polling process to ensure voting proceeds smoothly.

In LA-15, PPP candidate Sardar Ziaul Qamar had secured 16,637 votes, followed by PML-N’s Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas with 15,015 in polling on August 10.

However, the election commission withheld the result after polling could not be conducted at nine stations.

The result of LA-16 was also withheld after voting was not held at 14 polling stations, where 7,238 voters are registered.

Based on results from the remaining polling stations, PML-N’s Sardar Mir Akbar was leading in LA-16 with 19,515 votes.
