Five Pakistani workers killed in Riyadh gas cylinder explosion
1 min readFive Pakistani workers were killed in a gas cylinder explosion in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh, Pakistani officials said on Wednesday.
The explosion occurred in the Manfouha area of Riyadh.
According to initial reports, all five victims belonged to Mansehra district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The deceased were identified as Muhammad Saeed, Abid Hussain, Abdul Rehman, Muhammad Safeer and Muhammad Rustam.
Saudi authorities completed rescue operations after the explosion and initiated legal formalities, according to reports.
The Pakistani Embassy in Riyadh expressed deep sorrow over the incident, saying its officials were in constant contact with Saudi police and other relevant authorities.
The embassy said necessary arrangements would be made for either the burial of the deceased in Saudi Arabia or the repatriation of their bodies to Pakistan after the completion of legal procedures.
The incident has shocked the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia, while the victims’ families in Pakistan have been left grieving.
