A Russian model has become an internet sensation after videos highlighting her striking resemblance to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland racked up more than 110 million views across social media.

Twenty-four-year-old Anastasia Kostromitina, a Russian model and social media influencer, has drawn widespread attention for her facial features, blonde hair, expressions and mannerisms, prompting many users to describe her as the “female version” of Haaland.

Kostromitina had previously worked with several fashion brands, but her global popularity surged after her mother, Maria Kostromitina, shared a video showing her mimicking Haaland’s signature expressions, body language and hairstyle.

In the viral clip, she tied her blonde hair back in the same style often seen on the Norwegian football star during matches. Many viewers initially believed they were watching Haaland before realising it was the Russian model.

The video quickly spread across TikTok and Instagram, reportedly surpassing 110 million views and receiving more than five million likes, turning Kostromitina into an overnight internet sensation.

Social media users flooded the comments with jokes and comparisons. One user wrote, “This isn’t Erling Haaland — it’s his twin sister, Erlina Haaland.”

Another joked that if Haaland were ever injured during a match, Manchester City could send Kostromitina onto the pitch and “no one would notice the difference.”

Kostromitina said she initially paid little attention to comparisons with the football star but has since embraced them as a compliment.
