Ishaq Dar meets Marco Rubio, discusses bilateral ties and regional situation
1 min readDeputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday at the State Department, discussing the regional situation and bilateral relations, Pakistani officials said.
During the meeting, Rubio commended Pakistan’s diplomatic and mediation efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region and globally.
The two leaders expressed satisfaction over the positive progress in Pakistan-US relations and explored ways to further strengthen cooperation in priority areas, including trade, investment, security, and counter-terrorism.
Both sides agreed to advance the partnership through high-level exchanges and collaboration on regional peace, security, and prosperity.
After the meeting, Dar visited the Pakistani embassy in Washington. He had arrived in the US earlier on an official visit and was welcomed by Pakistani Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh.
