KP governor, CM condemn terrorist attack on polio security team in Bajaur
1 min readKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Chief Minister Sohail Afridi have strongly condemned a terrorist attack on a polio security team in Tehsil Salarzai, Bajaur, that killed two police officers.
Chief Minister Afridi took immediate notice of the attack and sought a detailed report from the Inspector General of Police on security arrangements for polio teams across the province.
“Targeting personnel serving on a national duty is an act of extreme cowardice,” Afridi said in a statement. He expressed deep condolences to the families of the martyred officers, pledging the provincial government’s full support to the bereaved.
Governor Kundi condemned the attack in equally strong terms, saying anti-state and anti-humanity forces operating in the country enjoy the patronage of India.
“The martyrdom of two police officers in this terrorist attack is deeply grievous,” he said, adding that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa take pride in the sacrifices of their police force.
The Chief Minister also prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and for strength and patience for their families.
