Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf has warned that the country’s armed forces are fully prepared to deliver a decisive response to any acts of aggression, cautioning that miscalculations by adversaries would carry disastrous consequences.

“Our armed forces are ready to deliver a well-deserved response to any aggression; mistaken strategy and mistaken decisions will always lead to mistaken results,” Qalibaf said, emphasising that Iran is prepared for all scenarios and that any attempt to challenge the nation would be met with surprise.

Iranian officials maintain that Tehran seeks peace and regional stability, while remaining committed to defending its sovereignty if its red lines are crossed.

Drawing on decades of self-reliance, advanced missile and drone technology, and regional alliances, Iran has developed a significant defensive capability, officials say, aimed at deterring miscalculations by potential adversaries.

In a follow-up statement, Qalibaf underscored Iran’s diplomatic stance, asserting that “there is no alternative but to accept the rights of the Iranian people as laid out in the 14-point proposal” and warning that failure to do so would result in continued setbacks and financial costs for the United States.

In a show of force, Iran has restricted access to the Strait of Hormuz for shipping linked to the US, Israel, and their allies, a move that has contributed to rising oil prices.

These measures were intensified last month following US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a blockade targeting Iranian vessels and ports.
